Frequently asked questions

Subscriptions and purchases

I paid but don’t have access to paid features.

Open ThaiLang, go to Settings and tap Restore purchases. ThaiLang doesn’t use accounts, so your subscription is linked to the Apple ID or Google account you paid with. Make sure your device is signed in to that same Apple ID or Google account.

If it still doesn’t work, email us with your order ID (see “Contact us” above) and we’ll look into it.

I got a new phone. How do I get my subscription back?

Install ThaiLang, sign in to the same Apple ID or Google account you subscribed with, then open Settings and tap Restore purchases. You don’t need to pay again.

Subscriptions can’t move between platforms. A subscription bought on iPhone won’t unlock ThaiLang on Android, and vice versa.

Will my learning progress move to my new phone?

Your learning progress is stored on your device. Because ThaiLang doesn’t use accounts, progress isn’t synced between devices.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are managed by Apple or Google, not inside the ThaiLang app.

iPhone or iPad: open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, then ThaiLang.
Android: open the Google Play Store, tap your profile icon, then Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions, then ThaiLang.

You keep paid features until the end of your billing period. Deleting the app does not cancel your subscription.

How do I get a refund?

Refunds are handled by the store you paid through.

Apple: request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Google Play: follow Google’s refund steps at support.google.com/googleplay.

If you have trouble, email us and we’ll do what we can to help.

What’s the difference between the free and paid plans?

The free plan lets you add a limited number of new words to your reviews each day and gives you access to a selection of content. The paid plan gives you unlimited new words and the full catalogue.

Using ThaiLang

How do reviews work?

ThaiLang uses FSRS, a spaced repetition algorithm, to schedule each word right before you’re likely to forget it. Rate each review honestly: words you find hard come back sooner, and words you know well are spaced further apart.

Does ThaiLang work offline?

Yes. Your core learning works offline. Some content needs an internet connection.

I’m not getting my Word of the Day notification.

Check that notifications are allowed for ThaiLang in your device settings.

iPhone or iPad: Settings, then Notifications, then ThaiLang.
Android: Settings, then Apps, then ThaiLang, then Notifications.

Focus modes, Do Not Disturb and battery saver can also block notifications.

Audio isn’t playing.

Check your volume and make sure your iPhone isn’t on silent mode. If audio still doesn’t play, you may be offline and the audio for that word may not be downloaded yet. Try again with a connection.

Your data

ThaiLang doesn’t require an account, and we don’t ask for your name or email to use the app.

Learning progress is stored on your device. Deleting the app removes it.

Usage, diagnostic and purchase data (analytics, crash reports and subscription status) is linked to a random identifier rather than to your name. To ask us to delete it, email support@gchtechnology.com with the subject “ThaiLang data deletion request”. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Have a subscription? Deleting the app doesn’t cancel it. Cancel it through the App Store or Google Play (see “How do I cancel my subscription?” above) to avoid being charged again.
